Palliative Care
Presented by Ms Amanda Bresnan on 26 October 2011
Ms Bresnan successfully moved a motion in the ACT Legislative Assembly calling on the ACT Government to commission an independent review into palliative care in the ACT.
Civic and Retail Diversity
Presented by Ms Caroline Le Couteur on 26 October 2011
Ms Le Couteur tried unsuccessfully to move a motion in the ACT Legislative Assembly which sought to encourage retail diversity and explore options for controlling land and retail dominance in Civic.
Community Legal Centres
Presented by Mr Shane Rattenbury on 19 October 2011
Mr Rattenbury successfully moved a motion in the ACT Legislative Assembly requiring the ACT Government to perform a feasibility study into establishing a Community Legal Centre Hub in Canberra.
Crimes (Sentencing) Amendment Bill 2011
Presented by Mr Shane Rattenbury on 19 October 2011
Mr Rattenbury tried unsuccessfully to have legislation passed in the ACT Legislative Assembly which would have required the ACT Government to perform a review of all sentences being handed down in the courts and how well they were achieving the goals of deterrence, punishment and rehabilitation.
