Mike Hall

I am delighted to be standing for the Greens in the federal seat of Mackellar. Open and ethical government is one of my highest priorities.

Clean energy and a clean economy driven by education, research, innovation and enterprise are central to the Greens agenda, coupled with an emphasis on equality and fairness.

Small business is the bedrock of our local community and I will be working hard to support it.

About Mike

Mike Hall is a small business owner and former international journalist.

He has lived on Scotland Island in Pittwater for more than 12 years with his partner Melinda, and two teenage children, Jasmine and Harry.

Mike obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and a Masters in International Journalism in the UK before travelling with Melinda to southern Africa where they worked as foreign correspondents for almost six years.

They later moved to Sydney where Mike worked briefly for Australian Associated Press. He then joined Bloomberg, the global financial information company, as an editor handling Australian and Asian economic and financial market news. The company posted him to India as Mumbai bureau chief and later as Singapore Bureau Chief.

On returning to Sydney with two small children, the couple were looking for a change of pace and moved to Pittwater. As part of the sea-change, Mike launched a designer textile business.

In that business he has always guaranteed customers trustworthiness and fairness. He is committed to bringing that approach to public life, promoting open and ethical government.
