Sylvie Ellsmore

Candidate for Sydney

Sylvie Ellsmore is a Native Title lawyer and former local councillor, who grew up in the Glebe area and lives in Newtown.

She has worked closely with the community to defeat WestConnex, to implement genuine solutions to climate change, and to put an end to the heartless and inhumane treatment of refugees.

Sylvie is a proud unionist, has a background in environmental, planning and heritage law and is a volunteer karate teacher at her local dojo in Darlington.

She recently spoke at the 2016 Juanita Nielsen Memorial lecture, which was published online by New Matilda with the title Four Decades On, The Fight Juanita Nielsen Led To Save Our Cities Rages On.
