Hornsby
Catherine Turner
Greens candidate for Hornsby

Catherine joined The Greens in 2003 because of their humane stance on refugees and commitment to a healthy public education system.
Since this time, she has been an active participant in her local group, Ku-ring-gai Greens, and enjoyed being part of a positive and productive group of community members who have a clear vision for the future.
“As a young Australian, the Greens have always been at the centre of my political landscape. I have always believed that the Greens offered real, practical and refined solutions instead of the fluffy ideas presented in the mainstream.
“In particular, I believe strongly in strengthening our public education system, taking a balanced and holistic approach to urban planning and development and in supporting the arts.”
“I look forward to the upcoming state election. This will be yet another great opportunity to make the community aware of the Greens as a real alternative that works for people and communities.”
Catherine has lived in the Hornsby area for most of her life. At the age of 24, she is the youngest candidate in the Hornsby electorate.
Catherine has studied Public Relations at TAFE and has a Bachelor of Arts in Government & International Relations and Film Studies. She works part-time as a pharmacy assistant and is currently undertaking a position as Press Officer in a non-profit organisation for Sydney’s Seniors Film Festival.
Catherine’s involvement in the local community includes broadcasting for community radio station Triple H.
