Justin Alick

Candidate for Bennelong

Justin works in overseas aid and sustainable development. He has qualifications in political and international studies, and also in development planning and public policy. He has previously represented the Greens as a candidate for the 2015 State election, the 2016 Federal election, and the 2017 North Shore by-election.

Aged 32, Justin lives in North Epping and previously Ryde - although he grew up in far western Queensland. He was recently based in South East Asia on work with aid agencies including the UN, focusing on green growth, climate change adaptation, and poverty reduction. On returning to Australia, Justin fell in love with the bushland, heritage and community spirit of Northern Sydney and made it his home four years ago.

He is running in the 2017 Bennelong by-election to send a strong message to both the Liberal and Labor parties on climate change, corruption and banking practices, the affordability of education and housing, refugees and inequality, and the lack of effective local representation for his community.

"The Government has been taking us in the wrong direction. With your help, we can have an Australia that enables everyone to achieve their full potential and which places decency, humanity and reason at the heart of all things," he says.

"This election will be an opportunity for locals to move beyond the failed promise and dismal politics of the Turnbull Government, and choose a brighter future."
